This Street Rat has a G10 glass ply on the bottom. It's the same stuff they make knife and gun handles out of. It's tough as nails and as close to indestructible as we've come with a fingerboard deck. We printed directly on the wood ply *beneath* the G10 ply, for a cool, translucent "soda bottle" look. Top ply is purple heart, finished in our house mineral oil/beeswax mixture.
This is the gnarliest deck we make. They take a lot of extra time and effort, but the feeling of one of these is totally worth it. The ply layup is unconventional with two 45 degree maple plies sandwiched with two lengthwise plies and the G10 layer underneath. This is the formula for unrivaled pop and torsional stiffness!
This fingerboard deck is V2 of our classic inspired street shape with slightly squared kicks for perfect grind lock-in. Not quite an egg or football, but a little bit of taper on the kicks for a unique feel. Slightly steeper and longer nose. This shape is perfect for ledge/rail tech enthusiasts.
Long pressed with polyurethane glue in 7075 aluminum molds with 1 ton hydraulic pressure. Sanded and finished by hand. Graphics are applied in-house as full color giclee printing directly on wood veneer. They are under the G10 layer and will not be affected by wear.
